Sizing Information
How to Choose the Best Size
Most of formal dress size charts run much smaller than the normal clothing size charts.
Also, every designer uses slightly different charts so you may be a different size for different designers.Customers Ordering On-Line:
Here's how to take your measurements from home:
1. Bust: Choose the highest point on your bust area and make sure the measuring tape is straight horizontal round to your back.
2. Waist: Choose the thinnest area around your torso and make sure the measuring tape is straight all the way around
3. Hips: Choose the largest area around your hips. For example, if you are larger on your upper thigh, please measure that area.
Tips: Please do tight measurements as dresses need to hug your body tightly. Formal dresses don't fit loose like casual clothing.
Also, every designer has a different size chart. You must use the size chart given for the dress you are ordering.

Customers Visiting Our Store:
When you come visit us in-store we will gladly help you choose the best size by taking your measurements. Taking measurements does not mean the dress will fit you perfectly when it comes in, although we do offer alteration services if the dress needs anything done for you for an additional charge.
Based on your measurements, we'll take a look at the designer's size chart and choose the best size for you. Our computer chooses the size by the measurement of the largest part of your body. Then we manually take the control over by checking the style of the dress you order. We usually recommend that the best and safest way to size is to go for the size that will fit around your hips and alter down the bust and waist. Please keep in mind, it is best to choose the dress that's generous size rather than the dress too tight because we can always size down, but it can be much more expensive or impossible to size up.

We do not charge more alteration fees just because the dress size is larger. All adjustment alteration prices depend on the fabric and style (may cost more when beads and straps are involved) and almost everyone needs a custom fit alteration touch to make a perfect fit.
These are long formal dresses and everyone wants to show off their figure. Of course, alterations are inevitable since everyone is shaped differently. There are a few cases the body measurements happen to match exactly to the size chart of the designer, but that does not happen very often.
A Few More Things to Add:
We do help you with the measurements you bring us over the phone or email if you are not able to come in, but we can only give you the best size information based on the given measurements from you.
Also, several things can slightly change your measurements, such as if you let us take the measurements right after a large meal, or during a period, or if you're wearing a padded push-up bra but don't plan to on your event day. Also, over several months after the measurements, you could lose or gain weight.
If you are confident to go for a smaller size than what we suggest, we would love to order the size you like to order. However, if the dress comes in too small, it may be hard for us or impossible to size up the dress. If you have enough time and decide to order another size, we would have to charge you for another dress in that case.
Our alteration prices are reasonable because we are not trying to make a big business off of alterations. We have an alteration department for convenient service for our clients to purchase the dresses without worrying about the perfect fit. This is why we provide alterations for our customers who purchased the dress from us, only. Of course, our prices are a little more than the dry cleaners and home or garage based tailors, but most of our customers are very happy with our prices.
Please feel free to contact us if there are any questions or concerns about the sizing and alterations at (925)560-0402 ext 3
We would be more than happy to assist you.
